Root Beer (S1E3)

(Picture of recipe) In this episode, we show a quick-and-easy approach for making a yummy root beer at home. As an added plus, the root beer is free of a lot of things you might not necessarily want to eat, such as sugar, caffeine, and a lot of artificial colorings and flavorings that come with mass-production soft drinks.

2-1/4c xylitol
3c water
3 tbsp root beer concentrate
1L sodium-free unflavored club soda

The Process

1. Heat the water to boiling, and remove from heat.

2. Gradually add the xylitol, stirring constantly until dissolved.

3. Stir in the root beer concentrate, and continue stirring for 30 seconds.

4. Using a small funnel, pour the root beer mixture into the 2L soda bottle. Pour the club soda into the bottle as well. Cap tightly and swish back and forth several times to mix thoroughly.

5. Enjoy in a glass over ice, poured over ice cream, etc. Refrigerate tightly capped.
